Taufiq Rahman Hakim

Software Engineer, Backend & Systems

I take products from requirements to production: writing the technical plan, modeling the data, building APIs, reviewing code, and deploying and operating the result on serverless platforms, managed cloud services, or self-managed VPS and bare-metal servers. I work mostly in C#/.NET and Go, and I'm happy to pick up whatever language or framework the team already uses.

Summary

I'm a software engineer who works mostly on the backend. My production work is in C# / ASP.NET Core with PostgreSQL, plus Go and TypeScript where they fit better. I care about the parts around the code too: a clear plan before the first commit, a consistent environment for the whole team, and branches that get reviewed before they reach main.

Most recently I led the team that built SIMKD, a lecturer scheduling system for my faculty, and shipped the website and member portal for Perkindo DKI Jakarta as a freelancer. My thesis is an automated VPS provisioning system on Proxmox for my faculty's network lab. I'm a BNSP-certified Software Developer and a two-time GEMASTIK national finalist.

Experience

Project Manager & Tech Lead, SIMKD

Aug 2026 – Oct 2026

Informatics Engineering Study Program, Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta · Commissioned project

SIMKD (Sistem Informasi Manajemen Kesediaan Mengajar Dosen) manages lecturer teaching availability for the study program: availability submission, lecturer plotting, conflict-free automatic scheduling, and exports to Excel, PDF, and iCal, including generated appointment letters.

  • Led a 6-person team of two full-stack developers, a backend developer, a system analyst, and a QA tester through agile sprints, from planning to review.
  • Wrote the PRD and technical plan that the SRS, system design, and scheduling algorithm were built from, and worked with the system analyst on the relational schema and conflict-detection approach.
  • Standardized the development environment with Docker (PHP 8.2, MySQL 8.0, Nginx) so every member ran the same stack from day one.
  • Owned the repository as branch master: reviewed and merged every feature and fix branch, and coordinated per-branch QA against a suite of 37+ test scenarios with regression checks.
  • Pitched and demoed the system to the client and turned their feedback into sprint scope.

Stack PHP 8.2 · MySQL 8.0 · Nginx · Docker · Git (feature/fix branching)

Fullstack Developer, Perkindo DKI Jakarta

Mar 2026 – Sep 2026

Freelance · Association of Indonesian construction consultants, Jakarta chapter

  • Built and launched the association's public website and member portal at perkindodki.org.
  • Built the backend API with Hono on Cloudflare Workers and the frontend with Vue 3, Vite, and TypeScript, both deployed on Cloudflare's edge network.
  • Designed the relational schema and migrated membership data to Cloudflare D1, a serverless SQL database.
  • Built an admin dashboard so the association's staff manage news and member records themselves.

Stack Vue 3 · TypeScript · Hono · Cloudflare Workers · Cloudflare D1

VirtualMU: automated VPS provisioning on Proxmox

2026 · Thesis

Students in my faculty's network lab need their own servers for coursework. VirtualMU lets them provision and manage a container or VM themselves, without lab staff setting each one up by hand.

  • .NET 9 Web API that drives the Proxmox API for the full container/VM lifecycle: create, start, stop, suspend, and delete.
  • Go WebSocket bridge that streams noVNC so students get a server console in the browser.
  • YARP reverse proxy routing between services, and SSH.NET for running commands inside provisioned machines.
  • Automatic suspension of containers and VMs based on resource usage, to keep the shared host from being exhausted.
  • PostgreSQL for machine metadata and credentials; services containerized with Docker.

Stack .NET 9 · Go · YARP · SSH.NET · PostgreSQL · Proxmox VE · Docker · Vue.js

StoryToDB: requirements to database schema

2026 · Live

Turning a written business description into a working relational schema is slow and easy to get wrong. StoryToDB runs the description through an AI pipeline and returns normalized tables, relationships, indexes, and seed data as SQL.

  • .NET 10 Minimal API backend, with Microsoft Semantic Kernel orchestrating each step of the pipeline.
  • Entity Framework Core on PostgreSQL for persisting projects and generated schemas.
  • Backend on Azure App Service; Vue.js frontend on Cloudflare Pages.

Margin of Error: educational math roguelite

2025 – present · Coming to Steam

Personal project · Pxpiksy Games

A roguelite dungeon RPG where every battle is a numbers puzzle. Each enemy carries a target number: hit it exactly with your number and operation cards and the attack lands; miss it and the dungeon makes you pay. Players lead Princess Elyra and her party across six regions to break the curse of Tinta, a talking grimoire. The game started as our GEMASTIK XVIII entry, which reached the national final, and is now in development for Steam.

  • Card combat where math is the magic: a deck that grows from digits and basic operators to powers, π, e, abs, mod, sin, and tan, evaluated in real time against each enemy's target and rewarding smart combinations over grinding.
  • Party-versus-group battles with turn-based decisions on who to hit, when to take a risk, and when to play safe.
  • A fog-of-war labyrinth of hidden nodes (fights, shops, forges, events, and bosses), so no two runs are the same.
  • Region bosses that each change how numbers work, plus a deck and gear system of stamps, artifacts, and modules that can be forged and upgraded from common to legendary.
  • Story and dialogue with Tinta and companions, with unlockable codex entries.

Stack Unity · C#

Home lab

2026 · Running 24/7

A self-hosted server where I run my own services and try out infrastructure before it goes anywhere near production.

  • Proxmox VE as the hypervisor for VMs and LXC containers.
  • TrueNAS with a ZFS storage pool for centralized storage, and Nextcloud on top as a private cloud drive.
  • Pi-hole as the network-wide DNS resolver, and Tailscale mesh VPN for remote access without exposing ports.
  • n8n for workflow automation.
